Geoff "G Notorious" White got hooked on the breakbeat oriented and bass heavy sounds emanating from the UK underground in the early 90s. He started playing out at house, loft, dorm, roofdeck, etc parties circa 1994 and got his first residency playing Jungle/DnB at Al Fougy's seminal Jungle Roots/Sessionz night in 1996 as G White. From there he followed the twists and turns of constantly evolving sounds through Speed Garage and 2-Step in the late 90s and early 2000s. In 2000 after making his first bass music pilgrimage to London and being fully immersed in the 2-Step UKG sound and culture, he started his first own night, and the first regular UKG event in the Northeast US, Lively which evolved over a couple years and venues (anyone remember the side room at the Rinse?) to eventually become Runnin' Fridays at Ekco Lounge in Chinatown. From there he continued to follow evolutions through Grime and Dubstep, landing his next night in the early 2010s, Dubwise at the Enormous Room. This multi-genre bass music expose rapidly shifted focus to primarily being Boston's first and only regular UK Funky outlet. In recent years, with the resurgence of UK Garage, G has refocused primarily on those sounds.
Geoff started writing tunes in 1997, releasing his first tune on Timestretch's Advance Recordings label with several others on CD comps and collections. The transition to 2-Step UKG around 2000 and switching from hardware to Reason, enabled collaborations with several others including Toronto's Deep Six as the GeeSixCru. G was once referred to by URB magazine as "one of the the US's most promising up and coming 2-Step producers" and had several Garage tunes released and featured on compilations. With the return of UKG on the world stage, he has also refocused his efforts and is currently hammering out tunes and finding distribution channels for them.
